First Grade Fall Fun
We are coming close to finishing our unit of inquiry, Who We Are. We hope that you are noticing some positive actions at home!
The students are starting to plan their summarize assessment for the unit. Some are planning to write, produce and direct plays that demonstrate their understanding of actions and consequences. Other students are creating posters while others are creating new endings to stories. We look forward to these creative endeavors!
Some upcoming events:
Judge Robert J. Triozzi will be here Friday afternoon to speak with the children about actions and consequences.
Zoo field trips: Mid October

How the World Works
The first graders had
an exciting week preparing for their summative assessment for How the World
Works. The Explorers created roller
coasters out of foam. They were
challenged to make their roller coaster have two hills and a loop.

How the World Works
It is hard to believe we are in the 4th week of our Unit of Inquiry. Our Central Idea, Forces affect the way objects move, has the children focusing on force and motion. We also had a special treat this week. Jonah's mom came in on Tuesday and did a special Chinese New Year celebration.
